Illuminate Irvine at Great Park

The Great Park Palm Court transformed into a Winter Wonderland, featuring the illumination of the Holiday Tree, along with festive activities and classic holiday music. Councilmember and our interns set up a table where participants could decorate their own snowman while having the chance to meet Santa Claus!

Human Trafficking Awareness Event

Attendees learned what human trafficking looks like today, how local communities are affected, and what actions can be taken to help prevent human trafficking. Irvine Police - Employee Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Class
PARTICIPATED
Team Liu participated in the 3-week employee CERT class, hosted by the Irvine Police Department and the Orange County Fire Authority. They learned about emergency readiness and first aid to assist first responders if CERT members are needed. Thank you for inviting our office!
HOPE Center for the Arts Trunk-Or-Treat​

Team Liu participated in the HOPE Center for the Arts Trunk-or-Treat event. The center focuses on the arts for adults with intellectual disabilities, ranging from music to performing arts. This year, Team Liu showcased a "Harry Potter" theme.
Mid-Autumn Festival

Joining together as one Irvine community, Councilmember Liu participated in the Mid-Autumn Festival held at the Great Park. Filled with vibrant performances, cultural displays, hands-on crafts, delicious food, and so much more, the event highlighted the traditions and stories that brought us together. Team Liu hosted an interactive table, creating paper moons.
Youth Conference Day

Our office hosted Youth Conference Day, featuring three interactive workshops on college readiness, financial literacy, and leadership skills, as well as a keynote speaker. Additionally, 11 organizations participated in the tabling section, including the Orange County Attorney's Office, OC Health Care Agency, Irvine Valley College, and more. Our office will host another one in 2026.
Firearm Safety Community Workshop

In partnership with Supervisor Katrina Foley, Irvine Police Dept, and WAVE, our office hosted a Firearm Safety Community Workshop, providing resources and education focusing on gun locks, safe storage, and emphasizing responsible gun ownership. Free gun locks were distributed to attendees.
Community Blood Drive

In response to the current shortage of blood across the United States, Councilmember Liu, with Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris and the American Red Cross, hosted a Blood Drive. Over 40 sign-up slots were filled, with one donation potentially saving up to three lives. Our office will host future Blood Drives in 2026.
Summer 2025 Internship Graduation

Irvine Police National Night Out

Recognized as one of the nation's best law enforcement agencies, Irvine Police hosted its annual National Night Out, showcasing different department divisions, including SWAT, K-9, drones, and much more. Team Liu hosted a table and provided guests with "Ouch Kits."
2025 Older Adults Resource Fair

Committed to supporting Irvine's older adults, Councilmember Liu, inspired by her own parents, hosted a resource fair to provide a one-stop shop with critical resources for older adults and their families. Over 25 organizations participated with over 250 guests. Our office will host a 2025 Older Adults Resource Fair in the summer.
Flag Day Ceremony

To celebrate Flag Day, Councilmember Liu presented several American flags to U.S. military veterans to recognize their service and dedication. Mr. Byron Salvatierra, a U.S. Army veteran of the Iraq War, received an American flag that was flown over the City of Irvine, while other recipients received flags from Kuwait, Vietnam, and the U.S. Capitol. Councilmember Liu honors local Irvine heroes.
Wildfire Prevention Town Hall

Councilmember Liu prioritized fire safety by hosting a 2-hour seminar with the Orange County Fire Authority, focusing on fire prevention, emergency preparedness, and local safety resources. The event included public safety experts and a Q&A session for attendees to learn how to protect their homes from fire.

To celebrate Women’s History Month, Councilmember Melinda Liu, along with Assemblymember Petrie-Norris and Councilmember William Go, hosted a Women’s and Wellness Fair. The event aimed to honor contributions in the community and featured a wellness expo, free exercise, and activities for children, including yoga and boxing classes. Councilmember Liu believes that supporting women’s health empowerment is vital for strengthening families and uplifting the community.
Martin Luther King Day of Service

Following the devastating Los Angeles County Wildfires, in partnership with Congressman Dave Min, Councilmember William Go, and Northwood High School PTSA, we hosted a Day of Service. Volunteers created firefighter care bags, which included eye drops, fire hand wipes, body powder, and more to assist OCFA firefighters in Los Angeles.
